How to create a link that directs customers to leave a Google review

When people search for your business on Google, one of the first things they’ll notice are your ratings and reviews written by past customers. Reviews play a major role in converting future customers, but the trick is getting customers to write them in the first place.

Luckily, you can make the process as simple as possible by sharing a special link that automatically directs customers to leave a Google review. Let’s walk through how to set up the link.

  1. Have your business’ Place ID ready. Don’t know yours? Here’s how to find your Place ID:
  • Go to the PlaceID Lookup Tool.
  • In the “Enter a location” field at the top of the map, type your business name.
  • Select your business from the list. You should now see a map of your business location, along with a box containing your Place ID and address.
  • Select and copy the Place ID.
  1. Paste the Place ID at the end of this URL:
  1. You can now share this URL with customers so they can rate your business and leave you a review. You can also shorten the URL.

One last note: While it’s fine to request a review from a customer, it is against the Google My Business review policy to offer incentives in exchange for a review or set up review stations at your place of business.
